Carolyn L. Green is founder and Managing Partner of EnerGreen Capital Management, LLC, a private equity firm that Green founded to invest in late venture and growth stage companies involved in the energy and environmental industries. EnerGreen’s holdings include Professional Environmental Engineers, Inc., a St. Louis-based company that provides environmental assessment, compliance and remediation services to public and private sector clients nationwide; and Casa Verde Energy Services, LLC, which offers energy assessment and efficiency solutions to public and private sector clients in Texas, Louisiana and Arizona.
Prior to founding EnerGreen, Green was Vice President - Health, Environment and Safety for Sunoco, Inc. She has over 30 years of environmental and energy experience, serving as Director of Government & Public Affairs for Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, Environmental Affairs Manager for Southern California Gas Company, Deputy Executive Officer for the South Coast Air Quality Management District and President of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power Board of Commissioners. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Green was a HUD Urban Studies Fellow in the Graduate Program in Urban & Regional Planning at Iowa.
Green was national board chair of the American Association of Blacks in Energy from 2008-2010 and formerly served as Environmental Committee Chair for the National Petrochemical and Refining Association (NPRA). She is Vice President of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) at the University of Iowa and Treasurer of the Alliance to Save Energy. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and co-chair of its 2016 Women’s Leadership Forum. She served on the US EPA’s Clean Air Act Advisory Council from 2002 through 2010, and currently serves on EPA’s National Advisory Council on matters related to the North American Commission on Environmental Cooperation. Green lives in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Michael Blakeney, an interior designer.
