Alliance Statement on Bipartisan Infrastructure Agreement
WASHINGTON – The Alliance to Save Energy released the following statement from President Paula Glover regarding the bipartisan infrastructure package agreement.
“As a bipartisan organization, we appreciate the efforts of the bipartisan working group and White House to achieve agreement on an infrastructure package. The proposal would include $559 billion in new spending for a number of infrastructure investments, including public transit, electric vehicles, and more. We look forward to reviewing the details of the agreement as they become available and will continue to work with the administration and Congress to ensure energy efficiency policies are fully funded and seen as a top priority in future legislation.
We’re also encouraged by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing that took place Thursday on the newly introduced Energy Infrastructure Act. This legislation also represents bipartisan efforts, and seeks to move forward a number of energy efficiency policies supported by the Alliance. We are committed to working with committee leadership and others as this legislation moves forward and will continue to push for additional energy efficiency investments.”
